REMOW has announced that the highly anticipated TV anime series My Deer Friend Nokotan will be streaming on multiple services such as Crunchyroll, Prime Video, ADN, Anime Onegai, and more in over 140 countries and territories. The company is responsible for the seriesβ international distribution.
Episodes of My Deer Friend Nokotan will be available on the streaming services starting on July 7, 2024, across the U.S., Asia, and around the world. More premiere dates will be announced later for additional platforms, with REMOW claiming that it is set to be βthe most widely available new anime of 2024.β
The anime series will be available with Japanese audio and subtitles in one or more of the following languages, depending on the platform: English, Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, French, German, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Malay, Thai, and Traditional Chinese.
In the last few weeks, the anime has skyrocketed in popularity, with the second English PV trailer garnering millions of views, as well as a 1-hour long dance video loop has gone viral, inspiring countless remixes, a page on Know Your Meme, and generating nearly 5 million views between its two official uploads.
Masahiko Ota (Gabriel Dropout, Himouto! Umaru-chan, Love Lab, Yuru Yuri Season 1 and 2) is directing the anime, with Takashi Aoshima (The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, REALLY Love You; Synduality Noir) as series screenwriter and scriptwriter, Ayumu Tsujimura (Onipan! main animator) as character designer, and Yasuhiro Misawa (Onipan!, Didnβt I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life?!) as music composer. WIT STUDIO is in charge of the animation production for the series.

The anime adaptation is based on the comedy manga by Oshioshio (the character designer of hololive VTuber Amane Kanata), which has been serialized in Kodanshaβs Shonen Magazine Edge since November 15, 2019. Five tankobon volumes have been released as of May 2024, with a sixth volume due out on July 9, 2024 . Seven Seas Entertainment releases the manga in English for North America.

Koshi Torako, a high schooler, one day feels something cold hit her face. Looking up, she spots a girl stuck, her antlers tangled in power lines. Helping Shikanoko, antlered and peculiar, turns Torakoβs life, a model student by appearance only, upside down. Thus begins a tale of a girl (once a delinquent) and another (a deer?), in this Girl Meets Deer adventure!
