Regarding North Korean Involve of “Dahlia in Bloom” TV Anime Production

The Production Committee of the Dahlia in Bloom anime has published the result of their investigation following a report claiming that some production materials were found on a North Korean server.

Typhoon Graphics outsourced to an unnamed Japanese company. That unnamed Japanese company then further outsourced to a Chinese company, which in turn outsourced some of the work to another Chinese company.

When the Production Committee requested a list of all personnel involved from all of the subcontractors, one company did not comply. As a result, the possibility that a North Korean company was involved could not be ruled out, so the Production Committee decided to have the affected portions of the anime redone by Japanese staff.

According to a subsequent post, the anime is still on track to debut in July as originally scheduled.
