Shueisha launches a limited-time manga distribution service for overseas audiences, offering free access to approximately 400 translated manga titles

Shueisha will celebrate its 100th anniversary on August 8th. As part of the commemorative projects, they have launched “MANGA MILLION,” a manga distribution service for overseas audiences. This initiative is limited to the end of December 2027.
No registration is required to use the service, and it offers free worldwide distribution of approximately 400 Shueisha manga titles, totaling 1 million pages, translated into over 100 languages. The lineup includes shonen and seinen manga such as “ONE PIECE,” “NARUTO,” “BLEACH,” “Demon Slayer,” “Jujutsu Kaisen,” “Kingdom,” “Oshi no Ko,” “SPY×FAMILY,” and “Chainsaw Man,” as well as shojo and josei manga such as “NANA” and “Kimi ni Todoke.”
The translations are done by professional translators and are available in over 100 languages from around the world, including English, Chinese, Hindi, Spanish, French, Arabic, Turkish, Marathi, Tagalog, Korean, and Polish. The number of languages translated varies depending on the work, but approximately 300 works are being translated into English for the first time. “ONE PIECE” has been translated into 107 languages.
Furthermore, Shueisha plans to begin a “near-simulcast distribution” service in mid-August, where the latest chapters of approximately 30 works currently serialized in Shueisha magazines will be distributed sequentially about 2-3 weeks after their publication in Japan. These approximately 30 works were not previously available for simultaneous distribution on “MANGA Plus by SHUEISHA”.
Please note that “MANGA MILLION” is an overseas service, and therefore, approximately 400 works translated for overseas markets are not viewable from within Japan. The content that can be viewed includes volumes 1-12 of “ONE PIECE” translated into 107 languages, as well as special articles such as English interviews with the author and publishers in various countries.

This project began with a simple idea: “Shueisha is celebrating its 100th anniversary! Wouldn’t it be fun to translate 1 million pages into 100 languages?” However, as we considered it further, we came to believe that this project was perfect for addressing issues such as “Aren’t there still countries where manga hasn’t reached?” and “Aren’t there works that haven’t been read due to language barriers?” We hope that MANGA MILLION, an unprecedented translation project spanning 1 million pages in 100 languages, will be the catalyst for the “best possible encounter” between readers around the world and Japanese manga.
