One of the best fantasy dramas of 2023 is about to make its official Season 2 debut. Frieren: Beyond Journeyโs End released a brand-new preview for its highly anticipated new season debut in 2026.
As previously teased, Frieren Season 2 released a brand-new trailer for its upcoming new season, scheduled for January 16, 2026. Crunchyroll and Muse Communications (SoutheastAsia), the anime streaming giant that released Season 1, will air Frieren Season 2 for English-streaming viewers. Atsumi Tanezaki returns to her critically acclaimed role as Frieren, a powerful and ageless elven mage who struggles to comprehend the finiteness of life, after the leader of her former hero party succumbs to old age.
New Era of Frieren Season 2

Frieren Season 1 ran for 28 episodes on Crunchyroll and Muse Communications (SEA) from Sept. 29, 2023, to March 22, 2024. The fantasy anime earned rave reviews from fans and critics alike for its breathtaking animation and its entertaining, thought-provoking exploration of fleeting life through the eyes of its deadpan immortal protagonist.
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End anime today unveiled a brand-new trailer that previews Season 2’s ending song, “The Story of Us” by milet.
Frieren Season 2 will be directed by Tomoya Kitagawa, a storyboard artist and episode director from Season 1. Keiichiro Saito, who directed Season 1 and Bocchi the Rock!, is credited as supervising director for Frieren Season 2.
