Netflix and MAPPA Announce Strategic Partnership for Exclusive Original Anime

Netflix has officially entered into a strategic partnership with MAPPA Co., Ltd., one of Japan’s most prominent animation studios, widely known for globally popular titles such as Chainsaw Man and Jujutsu Kaisen. The collaboration marks a significant expansion of Netflix’s commitment to anime and original Japanese animation for a worldwide audience.

Under this agreement, Netflix will exclusively stream a lineup of original anime titles produced by MAPPA on a global scale. The partnership is not limited to distribution alone; it spans multiple stages of production, including story planning, animation development, and merchandising. This integrated approach aims to create anime projects that resonate with fans across different regions while maintaining MAPPA’s distinctive creative identity.

A key highlight of the collaboration is the focus on simultaneous worldwide releases. New anime titles developed under this partnership will debut on Netflix at the same time across multiple countries, ensuring global audiences can experience these projects together without regional delays.

Netflix and MAPPA are no strangers to working together. The two companies have previously collaborated on projects such as Ranma 1/2 and Kakegurui Twin, building a foundation of trust and creative synergy. Currently, multiple new anime projects are in various stages of planning and production as part of this agreement. While specific titles and release dates have yet to be revealed, the announcement signals an ambitious slate of upcoming MAPPA originals designed specifically for Netflix’s global platform.
