KAGURABACHI Anime Casts Tomokazu Seki as Kunishige Rokuhira; Character Visual and Trailer Revealed

The upcoming anime adaptation of Kagurabachi has officially announced that veteran voice actor Tomokazu Seki will voice Kunishige Rokuhira, the legendary swordsmith and father of protagonist Chihiro Rokuhira.
Alongside the casting announcement, the production team also unveiled a brand-new character visual, character trailer, and comments from Seki himself.
Based on the hit manga by Takeru Hokazono, Kagurabachi is serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump and has surpassed 4 million copies in circulation worldwide, including digital editions.
Tomokazu Seki Joins the Cast
Seki, known for voicing numerous iconic anime characters throughout his career, will portray Kunishige Rokuhira, a master swordsmith whose creationsβthe powerful Enchanted Bladesβonce brought an end to the Seitei War.
Speaking about the role, Seki described Kunishige as both a legendary craftsman and a warm-hearted father. He shared that he aimed to portray both the character’s lighthearted everyday personality and the conviction he carries as a swordsmith.
Seki also expressed his excitement about joining the project, calling Kagurabachi a passionate series filled with powerful action, emotional depth, and unique worldbuilding.
When asked to summarize the appeal of the series in one phrase, he answered:
“A spirit passed down.”
Kunishige Rokuhira Character Revealed
The newly released character visual offers fans their best look yet at Kunishige Rokuhira.
Kunishige is introduced as Chihiro’s father, a renowned swordsmith who watched over his son with warmth and care. He is the only individual capable of forging the Enchanted Blades, mystical swords whose power can influence the fate of an entire nation.
Three years before the main story begins, Kunishige was killed during an attack carried out by the mysterious sorcerer organization known as the Hishaku.
KAGURABACHI Anime World Tour Announced
The production committee also confirmed the launch of the “KAGURABACHI Anime World Tour Part 1,” which will bring exclusive screenings of Episode 1 to anime events around the world.

About KAGURABACHI
The story follows Chihiro Rokuhira, a young aspiring swordsmith who trained under his father Kunishige. Their peaceful life is shattered when the mysterious Hishaku attack, stealing six legendary Enchanted Blades and taking everything from him.
Armed with Enten, the seventh Enchanted Blade left behind by his father, Chihiro embarks on a brutal journey of revenge in a dark world filled with sorcery and deadly battles.
The anime is being produced by Cypic, with Tetsuya Takeuchi directing and Keigo Sasaki handling character designs.
Release Date
The Kagurabachi anime is scheduled to begin broadcasting and streaming in April 2027, with international distribution planned through partners including MUSE and SMG Holdings.
