Kadokawa acquired Anime Studio Doga Kobo as a subsidiary.

KADOKAWA has announced that it has acquired shares in animation production studio Doga Kobo and made it a subsidiary.

Doga Kobo was established on July 11, 1973, and has been involved in the production of a large number of anime over the years. The studio has animated numerous shows like Oshi no Ko, New Game!, Plastic Memories, Himouto! Umaruchan, Yuruyuri – Happy Go Lily, Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun, and many more. The company also produced the Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night anime to celebrate its 50th anniversary, which premiered on April 2024.

By welcoming Doga Kobo, KADOKAWA will work to collaborate with the KADOKAWA Group and its group studios ENGI, Studio KADAN, Raging Bull, Bellnox Films, and Kinema Citrus, strengthening its structure for creating anime works that can be used globally.
