Exciting news for Star Wars fans, Disney and Lucasfilm unveiled that “Star Wars: Visions” anthology series is returning for a third volume. The series will premiere worldwide on Disney+ in 2025.
Following the success of the first two volumes, which introduced stunning short films crafted by various animation studios from around the world, Visions Volume 3 promises to push the boundaries of what is possible in both storytelling and visual art. The new season will feature an eclectic lineup of Japanese animation powerhouses, including renowned studios like David Production, Kamikaze Douga + Anima, Kinema Citrus, Polygon Pictures, Production I.G, Project Studio Q, Trigger, and Wit Studio.
βThe award-winning anthology of animated short films celebrates the mythology of Star Wars through unique cultural lenses,β said Disney and Lucasfilm in a statement.
Highlighting the eight different anime studios involved in Star Wars :Visions Volume 3, Disney and Lucasfilm added that this demonstrates the βdiversity and creativity of Japanese animation.β
The previous installments of Star Wars: Visions were released in September 2021 and May 2023.
